We welcome articles about experiments with BrainlessLab, including replications, different results and investigations of new questions. Each article credits its authors and links to the work it builds on.
Start a conversation
Open an issue on GitHub with your question or a short account of what you found. You can begin with an idea, a draft or existing results. We can work through the publication format together.
For a proposed investigation, describe the model, task and comparison you have in mind. For completed work, include the main finding and links to the methods, code or data you can share.
Prepare an article
Explain the question, what you compared, what happened and what you think it means. Include figures where they help, and describe uncertainty and conditions that affect the interpretation. Agree the author list with everyone contributing to the work.
Provide enough supporting material for someone else to inspect the findings: model and task settings, the independent trials or blocks, the analysis and the data behind the figures. Explain how to repeat the work and identify anything that cannot be shared or regenerated.
For a replication, link the original study, describe what you repeated and what changed, and report the agreement or differences you observed. Replications use the same article format as other contributions.
Review and publication
A maintainer reviews the article and supporting material with you before publication. Review checks that the methods are understandable, the conclusions follow from the results and the relevant data and code are accessible. Questions and revisions can be discussed in the issue or pull request.
Published articles appear in Research. Related articles link to one another, and supporting files remain available with the version they accompanied. When you are ready to package a BrainlessLab report, the sharing guide gives the commands and file requirements.
